Bellam pongali

















Ingredients:
 
1 cup - rice
1/4 cup - chana dal
1 cup - grated jaggery
1 cup - milk
2 tbsp - ghee
3 - cardamom pods
2 tsp - chopped dry coconut
Cashews


Method
  1. Bring 3 cups of water to boil and add the rice and chana dal.
  2. Let it cook completely.
  3. Now add the jaggery and allow it to melt.
  4. Then add the cardamom powder and milk to it and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cashews and dry coconut until golden color.
  6. Add it to the rice mixture and mix well.
  7. Switch off the flame and serve.
