Thotakoora Pesarapappu Koora

















Ingredients:

4 cups - chopped amaranth leaves
1/2 to 1 cup - moong dal
1 - onion
1 - green chillies
2 - red chillies
1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
1/2 tsp - urad dal
1/2 tsp - chana dal
1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
2 tbsp - oil
Salt to taste

Method
  1. Wash and soak the moong dal in water for 5 minutes.
  2. Drain and keep aside.
  3. Wash and chop amaranth leaves and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a vessel add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal and fry them.
  5. When they start to splutter add crushed red chillies, chopped green chillies, onion pieces and soaked moong dal.
  6. Let them fry until light brown colour.
  7. Now add chopped amaranth leaves, turmeric powder and little water.
  8. Mix well, cover with a lid.
  9. Let it cook completely.
  10. When it`s done, add salt and stir well.
  11. Serve hot with rice or roti.
