Bhendi with Dalia Powder



















Ingredients:

Lady’s Finger 2 Cups Sliced
Dalia / Roasted Gram 2 Tbsps
Red Chili Powder 1/2 tsp
Garlic 2 Cloves
Curry Leaves 5
Salt to Taste

Method of preparation:

Wash and pat dry okra.
Remove ends and slice the okra / bhindi into thin strips.
Peel and crush the garlic cloves.
Grind dalia/ roasted gram into fine powder using a spice blender.
Heat oil in a pan on medium high heat, add sliced bhendi.
Fry till bhendi turns golden brown in color.
Add the crushed garlic cloves and curry leaves.
Fry for couple more minutes, stir in ground dalia powder, red chile powder and salt.
Mix thoroughly to let all the powders stick to the bhindi.
Serve bhindi with dalia powder with plain steamed rice or with roti.

Notes:Make sure bhindi is cooked before removing from heat.
Suggestions: If bhindi seems uncooked, cook covered on low flame till done.

Variations: For extra spice, slice the green chiles and add to the pan along with garlic cloves.
